I tried updating to the newest version of the driver provided by the manufacturer of my computer (which is about 5 years old, but still newer than the one I had!), and the cursor still never changes.

I have also tried both OpenGL and DirectX, as well as various resolutions, and nothing seems to help.

In which folder did you install the game?
Are you running 32 or 64 bit version of Windows?
Which version of Windows are you running?
Are you running Windows at all? :-)

I'm running 32-bit Windows XP.

The game is installed in C:\games\ra\The Legend of Crystal Valley\

Hm, that is quite odd. Can you verify existence of the following file, in correct caps:

...\The Legend of Crystal Valley\data\scene\farma\amp\Farma01.amp

The file exists, but with a lowercase 'F' at the beginning (that is, farma01.amp).

I changed the file to Farma01.amp (with a capital 'F'), and now the cursor turns blue as it should. I thought files on Windows were case insensitive?

I notice all of the files in that folder are all in lowercase (as well as files in other 'amp' folders for other scenes) - do they all need to be changed?

Thank you for your prompt reply, though, and your help!

wow, really weird. File name on windows are case-sensitive, that's why I don't understand why all the files are lowercase?

You mean, case in-sensitive. File open api is insensitive, but yes, the filesystem should store the file case correctly.

We'll look for the simplest way to remedy your problem. Thanks!
