You have questions about WuS:EF? This is the right place to ask them!

Hi,
How will this game vary, in general, form Battlefront's Combat Mission Series.
for example; I notice it's described as turn based instead of WEGO.
(screens look promising)

WuS:EF is a turn-based strategy and we have a grand scale map and no missions or restrictions over the entire map. You will be able to command a huge number of troops, supplies, production etc. Also, there are no country borders, but only Command Centers which are the hoptspots on the map. Everything else can be used as a huge battlefield with feature of user-created fronts.
Our game is not 100% historically accurate, and units are usually presented like (for example - tanks): Light tank –> Medium tank -> Heavy tank (there are no upgrades of tank guns or MG's or armor once you have a tank rolling on map).

One more important thing, multiplayer is something we pay a great attention to. Also, there is going to be a completely original and revolutionary system of Diplomacy and communication between players.

Hi there, my name is Maxim ;) (from UbuntuForums).
A got a few questions if I may :

1. I haven't yet seen screenshots of this game, can you please redirect me to them ?
2. When would this game be released ?
3. What engine do you use ?
4. What kind of TB strategy game will it be ? Would you be able to build or/and upgrade your units in game or just before the campaign ?
5. What about diplomacy ? how would it be implanted with the player and the A.I ?

That's it for now.
Thanks ahead.
Maxim.

Hi Maxim,

1. we will release some art, Alpha screenshots and other graphics and materials by the end of the month. WuS: EF site is currently under the construction
2. ah, sometime during 2008 (no one knows yet)
3. we use Ogre3D (graphic) and OpenAL (audio). the rest is ours - home-made
4.  you will be able to build factories, units, upgrade infrastructure and units, build defenses in command centers... it's something between Total War and Heroes of Might and Magic, and Panzer General. A cocktail :)
5. The Diplomacy – well, I'll tell you only that everyone will be nicely surprised by this. We manage to create some really fresh and innovative Diplomacy model. Nothing like you saw before in strategy games.
Unfortunately, its full potential can be seen only in Multiplayer.

Thank you for your answers.

Diplomacy is a major part of any strategy game (Heroes really missed it IMO) and it would be a shame that this diplomacy model will fully work only with Multiplayer and not in single mode, it reminds me of the great game FreeCiv with very poor A.I, so you could only "really" play it in Multiplayer mode.

Anyways ...
I wonder how long are you developing this game ?
Which 3d/2d graphic programs are you using ?

well, I don't think this would be a shame. But, if you can think a way how to make single-player and AI to be equally good as live human opponent, I'll be happy to hear it.
We have been working on this title for more than a year now. It took more than we planed, but that's because right now our primary project is adventure The Legend of Crystal Valley.

Congratulations on the new website for WuS.
But I'm having little problems scrolling it (up down, to see units and stuff).
I'm using Firefox2 under Ubuntu and when I scroll and then stop scrolling the website goes up, well it's a very minor problem but I think you should know.

BTW
The website looks great.
