characters have light beams on heads

I just bought a copy of this game for my wife. She has a Lenovo PC desktop
that meets the system requirements. When the characters appear a white
line appears from the upper left corner of the screen to the character's
heads. I purchased this game from Fry's and took it back because I
thought it might be a defect but the second copy is showing the same
thing. Has anybody seen this? Is there anything I can change on the
computer to change this?

usually such problems can be solved by updating windows in windows update and/or updating your graphics card drivers. 99% of the time it's the drivers. give it a go and let us know if it solves you problem!
